Long: Himalayan Region™, based in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, supplies sea buckthorn, heritage millets, herbal teas, nettle, Gucchi morel and other Himalayan produce to wholesale, private-label, hospitality and export buyers. Every product has a SKU, pack sizes and a data sheet, and the company publishes its registrations so buyers can verify them. It works with women-led Self-Help Groups in Kumaon and Garhwal, and also offers hand-painted Kumaoni Aipan art and village-led agro-tourism.
Jyoti Bisht is an entrepreneur and a practising Aipan artist. She founded Himalayan Region on the conviction that the produce and heritage crafts of Uttarakhand's mountain villages deserve a place on the world stage, and that the women who create them should lead. Read more on the Story page.
